The City of Malaga has approved this Friday the specifications for the tender for the concession of a planetarium that will be the largest in Spain, with 21 meters in diameter and capacity for 322 people.
The object of the concession, of 37 years, will be the construction, equipment and exploitation of the planetarium with a fixed annual fee that establishes a minimum type of tender of more than 81,000 euros, as reported by the session in a statement.
This facility will favor family, nature and scientific tourism and the promotion of the city, as it provides more than 100,000 annual visits, which will have a direct and indirect economic impact of around ten million euros in the economy of Malaga.
The planetarium of Malaga, which will be located on a municipal plot of 8,811 square meters in front of the Benítez Camp Park, is conceived with the objective of becoming a center of dissemination and axis of scientific tourism at the Andalusian and national level.
Among the criteria to be assessed for the award are the architectural blueprint of the building and its quality, technical value, accessibility and environmental or innovative features.
